| ICE-EM Australian Travel and Accommodation Subsidies |
ICE-EM is pleased to offer student travel scholarships to attend the ICE-EM Workshop on Mathematical Methods in Finance & the 5th National Symposium on Financial Mathematics. Students enrolled in AMSI institutions and not currently residing in greater metropolitan Melbourne are invited to apply for these subsidies, by following the guidelines below.
Travel and accommodation subsidies are as follows: Regional Victoria (outside greater metropolitan Melbourne): $300 Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney: $450 Brisbane: $550 Perth: $750 Townsville: $700
| ICE-EM Asian and Latin American Travel and Accommodation Subsidies |
Several international travel subsidies are available to eligible postgraduate students and early career academics in their first three years of research or teaching enrolled or employed in universities in Asia and Latin America. Applicants must be able to understand and communicate at a scientific level in the English language (English language skill equivalent to IELTS 6.5).
The subsidies have a value of AU$1000 to AU$2000, and can be used towards accommodation and travel expenses. Applicants should follow the guidelines below for submission. For questions, contact Dr Nancy Lane at ICE-EM.
| ICE-EM PRIMA Accommodation Subsidies |
ICE-EM is offering accommodation subsidies of AU$250 to postgraduate students enrolled full-time in universities that are members of the Pacific Rim Mathematical Association (PRIMA) to participate in the ICE-EM Workshop on Mathematical Methods in Finance & the 5th National Symposium on Financial Mathematics.
Because of reciprocal relations amongst PRIMA institutions, PRIMA students also pay the same registration fees as AMSI students.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a PRIMA university. Non-native English language speakers should have English language skills equivalent to IELTS level 6.5.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for an oral presentation. A special session for PhD students has been set aside. Students will have an opportunity to present their current work and get feedback.
Submit the relevant documents (PDF, postscript or text formats) no later than 1 September 2006 to Kais.Hamza@sci.monash.edu.au. International applications will be considered shortly after they are received in order to give applicants sufficient time to apply for visas. International applicants do not need to pay their registration fee until they are notified whether or not they have been awarded a subsidy and have obtained a visa, if required.
Electronic submission (above) is preferable, and all applicants from Asia must submit electronically. If necessary, applicants from Australia and New Zealand may submit applications postmarked no later than 1 September 2006 to:
